Contre Jour - iPhone Review

The App Store being what it is today, it’s not very often that something completely new and original pops up, that is until now. Contre Jour (literally translated means against day and is a photographic artform) from Chillingo is such a game.

Contre Jour takes all the best parts of puzzle games and classic platformers and blends them together with some stunning (dare I say beautiful) light and dark coloring. This is one of those games that really needs to be played to be fully appreciated. The game play has you controlling the landscape by simply touching the area of land you wish to lower or raise in order to you get little creature moving about the screen. The objective is to get to the safety of the portal, collecting light as you go.

As you progress through the game you will need to use the environment, tentacles, geysers and pulleys to complete the levels whilst watching out for brambles and spikes that bring their own challenges to the levels.
The game itself is broken down into three chapters with more “coming soon” giving you 60 levels with that 3 star distraction to keep you coming back for more. The soundtrack and lighting are some of the best I have seen on an IOS device.

If you are looking for something fresh and unique to try out then Contre Jour defiantly deserves your attention.
